Good question.

Getting started

We don't offer watch-first visits — but we have something even better: you can register your student for a free trial class! It's the best way to experience a real class, meet our coaches, and see if it's the right fit before enrolling.

Register for a Free Trial Class

More than okay — it's most of who we are. We're a recreational gym built for first-timers. Coaches group kids by ability, so brand-new gymnasts feel right at home and are challenged at just the right level.
Everyone from walking toddlers through adults. Preschool starts with Parent & Tot (walking–3), then Beginning and Advanced Preschool (3–5). Youth classes are for ages 6+, and we also offer competitive Team, Adult classes, and Open Gym. Browse our classes or use our class finder tool to get placed in the perfect class. Or email your child's age and experience to info@mplsgymnastics.com and we'll recommend one!
Yes — two neighborhood gyms with the same warm coaches and welcoming feel: Northeast Minneapolis at 801 SE 9th St. and South Minneapolis at 4038 Bloomington Ave.

Please wear comfortable clothing, such as a leotard or a t-shirt with either shorts, sweatpants or leggings. To ensure class safety, we ask that clothes are close fitting and cover the midriff. We recommend bare feet during class, but socks are optional. Hair long enough to fall into eyes must be tied back before the start of class.

Personal items should be left in cubby holes upon arrival to class.

Feel free to bring a water bottle! We also have drinking fountains available.

The MPLS Gymnastics staff will not be responsible for ANY items that may be lost or stolen.

Registration & enrollment

To find a class that is right for you, click on the “Classes” header at the top of our website. Once you have found the class that best fits your needs, click on the “Register Now” button under that class description.

Every current class option — days, times, and open spots — pops up right there on our website at the click of a button. Choose the one that fits your schedule, then finish by creating an account in our Family Portal to complete registration.

If you have questions about which class is right for your student, use our class finder tool for an instant recommendation — or send an email with your student's age to info@mplsgymnastics.com and we will recommend an appropriate option for your student!

Yes! You can register and join at any time!

If you would like to join in the middle of the month, we will prorate your first month so you only pay for the number of classes remaining in that month. When you create an account, our system will recognize that you are new to our program and will automatically prorate your registration at checkout! After your first month, your enrollment will automatically roll from month to month so you don't have to re-register every month!

If the class you would like to join says “waitlist”, you can simply follow the prompts to register for that waitlist in the parent portal! (If the class you're interested in is an Advanced level class, you'll need to email us at info@mplsgymnastics.com as those classes are coach approved.) Once you're on a waitlist, we will email you directly at the email address that is associated with your account to offer you an opening as soon as it becomes available. You then have three business days to reply to that email confirming whether you'd like to “add” or “change to” that class. We will then enroll your child in that new class, and confirm the completed registration changes via reply email to you.

Waitlists have no cost and there is no limit to the number of waitlists you can be on! You are also welcome to continue in a different, active class while you wait for a spot in a more desired day/time if you'd like to!

Parents/Guardians can drop classes with a 15 day notice. To drop a class, follow these directions:

On Desktop:

  1. Log into your account and click “My Account” at the top of the screen.
  2. Under your child's name, click the “Enrollments” icon.
  3. Find the class you'd like to drop and click “Drop Enrollment.”
  4. Select your preferred drop date (must be at least 15 days out).
  5. Click “Yes, please drop!” to confirm.

On our Mobile App:

  1. Tap “Account” in the bottom toolbar.
  2. Select your student, then tap “Enrollments.”
  3. Tap “Drop Enrollment” next to the class you wish to drop.
  4. Select your preferred drop date (must be at least 15 days out).
  5. Click “Yes, please drop!” to confirm.

Important Notes:

  • Your drop date must be at least 15 days after the date you submit the request. You can choose any date further out than that, and the system will keep the exact date you set.
  • Tuition continues through your scheduled drop date.

Pricing & billing

30-minute classes start at $62/mo and 60-minute classes at $111/mo; Team starts at $112/mo. All prices are monthly tuition plus tax, with no long contracts. See the pricing page for the full breakdown by program.

Yes! All of our classes are priced as follows:

  • All 30-minute classes: $62/month+tax
    – Each additional 30-minute class in the same month: $57/month+tax
  • All 60-minute classes: $111/month+tax
    – Each additional 60-minute class in the same month: $106/month+tax
  • Developmental Team classes (1 hour/week): $112/month+tax
  • Mastery Team classes (4 hours/week): $231/month+tax
    – Each additional sibling: $205/month+tax

Yes! When enrolling multiple students from the same family, each additional sibling is $5 off per class! We do this in hopes that the cost of our programming can be attainable to all and that siblings have the opportunity to take classes with each other!

Ex: When signing your family up for classes, student #1 will pay full price, while students #2, #3, #4 will pay $5 less per each class registered for.

Want to see your family's exact monthly total? Try our tuition calculator — it applies every discount automatically!

Class tuition will be charged on the 1st day of each month. Class payments are month to month, so you will never have to pay for more than one month of tuition at a time.
All of our classes are rolling enrollment and not session based, so billing happens every month as opposed to quarterly or yearly. We do this to keep our class options flexible, and for new students/families to have the ability to join when it is convenient for them!
No! Class tuition remains the same every month, even if the number of class days is not equal to four. We do this to ensure that our class pricing remains easy to understand and the amount will be predictable when your account is billed on the 1st day of the month. The number of class days in a month evens out throughout the year, with some months having more or less than 4 class days. You can be sure that your class will always be running on the day of the week that you signed up for. The only exceptions to this are for a scheduled holiday break (which will always be announced ahead of time) or due to weather or other unpredictable factors, in which case you will always be notified.

At the gym

Arrival: Please be sure that your student arrives 5 minutes before his/her scheduled class time (no earlier please). Escort your student into the building to keep them safe in the parking lot. Bring your student to the check in line where they will be checked in for their class by a coach.

Pickup: Please arrive back to the gym 5 minutes prior to the end of their class ending time. Please pick up your student on time. During peak times, our parking lot can get very crowded, so we ask that you always escort your children to your car. Please drive cautiously in our parking lot to ensure safety! Thank you!

Yes! If you would prefer to leave and do other things during your student's class, you are more than welcome to. We ask that you return 5 minutes prior to the end of class time to pick up for your student so that the coaches can attend to the next class.

We understand how valuable a little extra kid-free time can be as a parent, so we encourage you to take advantage of this option if it helps fit your needs!

Supervision Policy:

  • Children must be actively participating in a class under the supervision of a coach at all times while at the gym if not with a parent/guardian.
  • Children who are not enrolled in a class must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.
  • Unattended children are not permitted in the gym at any time.
  • This policy applies to parents/guardians who are more than 15 minutes late picking up their child.

Process for Unaccompanied Children:

  • If it comes to the attention of staff that a child is unattended, parents will immediately be contacted.
  • If parents do not arrive within 15 minutes, or as discussed with staff, Minneapolis Gymnastics reserves the right to apply a $25 charge to the account of the registered family.
  • If children are left unattended more than two times, Minneapolis Gymnastics reserves the right to end the enrollment of the family in question.

Families can eat while in the seating areas of the gym, but food and drink (including water) are never allowed in the gymnastics area. If a student needs a drink of water during class, we ask that they go and get a drink from the drinking fountain or from their water bottle which is left in a cubby upon arrival to class.

If you choose to eat at the gym, please be sure that your student has time between eating and the start of their class time so that they never enter the gymnastics space with food in their mouth.

Make-up tokens

Make up tokens are essentially one-time passes that allow you to make up for time lost at the gym. They are issued in the case of all unplanned gym closures. If your class is canceled, you will receive notification of a make up token to be used within one year of the canceled class.

*We do not issue make up tokens for other types of absences.

For step by step instructions on how to redeem your make up tokens, see the next FAQ.

Please schedule make up classes at least 7 days in advance so that we have time to ensure our classes are staffed appropriately.

  1. Locate your student's profile on your MPLS Gymnastics account.
  2. Choose “Make Ups” under the name of the student you wish to use a token for to access the tokens available to you.
  3. Choose the date on which you wish to attend your make up class.
  4. All age appropriate options available on that date will appear.
  5. Choose the option you prefer, and click the “Use Make Up Token” button.
  6. That token will now appear in the “Pending Make Up Tokens” category.
  7. You are now all set to attend your make up class! :)

You can also use a make up token to attend an Open Gym! :) (Student's ages 3yr to 5yr must have a parent attend on the gymnastics floor with them for safety).

Please note: To redeem a Make Up token for an Advanced level class, please find a class day and time that works for your family's schedule and then email info@mplsgymnastics.com with the day and time that you prefer and we will sign your gymnast up for you!

If you have any trouble with scheduling your tokens, please reach out and we'll do our best to help! :)

Parties & events

Yes! Birthday parties run 90 minutes for up to 20 kids: an hour of coach-led time on the gymnastics equipment, then the last 30 minutes at your party tables for food, cake, and presents. We provide the coach, your own party space, tables, tablecloths, and chairs, a Bluetooth speaker, and staff the whole time. You bring the food, drinks, and cake ready to serve (the gym has no kitchen or refrigeration), plates and plasticware, and any decorations. See the parties page for details and booking.
Yes — Summer Camps, School's Out Day Camps, Skills Camps, and our Parents' Night Out evenings. Dates and pricing release seasonally. Check the camps & events page for what's coming up.

Kids ages 5–12 of every experience level — no gymnastics background needed. Kids attending must be potty trained.

Friday evenings, 6:00–9:00pm, at our South gym (4038 Bloomington Ave). Every upcoming date is in the list above — tap one to register.

$15/event +tax, per kid. Register for any Friday that works — no packages or commitments.

Preschool Open Gym

Ninety minutes of wide-open play across the whole preschool gym — soft shapes, little beams and bars, ramps, and room to run. No stations, no schedule: they explore, you play right alongside them.

Little ones from walking up to age 6. A parent or caregiver stays and plays the whole time — it’s a together thing, not a drop-off.

Both gyms, 9:00–10:30am: Tuesday mornings at Northeast (801 SE 9th St) and Thursday mornings at South (4038 Bloomington Ave). Every upcoming date is in the list above — tap one to register.

$5 per child, per visit. Come every week or just when it fits — no packages or commitments.

Yes — pre-registration is required and spots are limited, so grab your morning before it fills.

We’re happy to help! Send us a note and we’ll get right back to you.

Camps

Full days of gymnastics, activities, crafts, and new friendships — with a brand-new theme every week! Camps run Monday through Friday, 8am–3pm, at our South gym for ages 5–12, and you can add AM/PM hours if you need a longer day.

See the Summer Camps page for this year's themes and dates.

Not at all! Camps are built for every kid ages 5–12 — first-timers and experienced gymnasts alike. Coaches lead the gymnastics portions at each camper's level, and the rest of the day mixes games, crafts, and open play.

Summer Camps are $475/week +tax, and the weekly rate drops when you book more weeks: $450/week for 2–4 weeks and $425/week for 5–8 weeks. Register early each winter to save an extra $50/week, and siblings get a 10% discount. Monthly payment plans are available.

School's Out Day Camps are $75/day +tax with no multi-day minimum. Full pricing lives on the pricing page.

Single-day camps for ages 5–12 at our South gym on no-school and release days throughout the school year — a fun packed day (8am–3pm) whenever the kids have a day off. Add only the days that fit your family's schedule.

Every date is on our live calendar with day-exact registration links.

A packed lunch (there's no kitchen or refrigeration at the gym), a water bottle, and comfortable athletic clothes they can move in. Long hair should be tied back. We'll handle the rest — including a free camp t-shirt for Summer Campers!

Skills Camps

Gymnasts currently in Intermediate Youth, Advanced Youth, Developmental Team, or Mastery Team. Not there yet? Our Summer Camps and School's Out Day Camps are the perfect fit.

All four events, every day — bars, floor, beam, and vault. Gymnasts are grouped by skill level for personalized coaching, so each athlete gets the space and support to grow at their own pace.

Camp runs 9:00am–2:30pm. Warm-up games kick things off, then two morning event rotations, lunch and a craft (bring your own lunch), two afternoon rotations, and a snack & stretch to wind down before open gym and pickup.

Families join from 2:00–2:30 for the skills showcase — a chance for every gymnast to show off how much they’ve grown all week — then everyone stays for the ice-cream party from 2:30 to 3:00.

Registration opens in January. Add the reminder with the Mark-your-calendar button so you don’t miss it — weeks fill quickly.

We’re happy to help! Email camps@mplsgymnastics.com and we’ll get right back to you.

Adult Gymnastics

Absolutely! No experience is needed. Our Beginner skills classes start with body shapes, rolls, cartwheels, and handstands — or bring a goal like "I've always wanted to learn a cartwheel!" and our coaches will help you get there.

Every week at our Northeast gym: coached skills classes (Beginner & Intermediate), brand-new fitness classes launching this September, and Adult Open Gym. Come to one thing that fits your week, or all of it.

See the Adult Program for the full picture.

The unlimited monthly membership covers every class and open gym, as often as you can make it. The first 100 founding members lock in $150/month for as long as their membership stays active — $175/month after that. It launches September 8 and includes one guest pass a month.

Become a Founding Member to claim a spot.

Nope! You can grab a 10-visit punch card for $200 (passes never expire) or just drop in for $25/class. Everything is month-to-month or pay-as-you-go — never a long contract.

A self-led session: after a group warm-up, the gym is yours to explore — tumble track, beams, spring floor, whatever you're curious about. Coaches monitor for safety but don't lead instruction, and there's no minimum skill required. Pre-register online for the session you want.

We’re happy to help! Email our Adult Program team at ag@mplsgymnastics.com and we’ll get right back to you.
