If you’ve progressed through Advanced Youth, our Mastery Team classes are a great next step! Mastery Team gymnasts have a strong foundation of skills, allowing them to learn and refine more advanced skills that they will incorporate into their competitive routines.

Students enrolled in Mastery Team will compete in in-house competitions hosted by Minneapolis Gymnastics at one or both of our locations between February and May. Competition dates are TBD and will be announced in the fall.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:20-8:20pm

All students interested in joining Mastery Team must first register for our Developmental Team option (detailed above) and receive move-up approval from our coaching team.

Description:

The Developmental Team Program is the first tier in our Team program. It allows students who are enrolled in Intermediate Youth or Advanced Youth classes to keep their current class enrollment while also joining the Minneapolis Gymnastics Team!

Families interested in joining Developmental Team will select a one-hour Developmental Team class and commit to that time slot, just as they do for their Intermediate or Advanced Youth class. Families can choose any “Developmental Team – Intermediate Youth” or “Developmental Team – Advanced Youth” class that 1) matches their child’s current youth class level and 2) fits their family’s schedule. This class can, but does not have to, be on the same day as their regular youth class.

Once enrolled, Developmental Team students will learn routines, be eligible to compete in our competitions (not required), and purchase a Minneapolis Gymnastics branded team leotard!

We designed the Developmental Program to make team and competitions more accessible to families without the four-hour weekly time commitment required by our Mastery Team program. By offering multiple time slots, the Developmental Program allows families greater flexibility while giving gymnasts the opportunity to experience the excitement of being on a team!
